Bay Food Brokerage’s 30th anniversary celebrations keep on coming! Here’s the fifth and final video in our series featuring CEO, President and Founder Cammie Chatterton’s most memorable Bay Food moments. In this video, Cammie talks about winning not one – but two – Tampa Bay Chamber Small Business of the Year Awards.

One of the most, well I should say two of the most favorite memories I have, at least in the last decade, if not the entire length of my career, has been with the Chamber of Commerce, the SBOY Awards.

In 2020, Bay Food Brokerage won Small Business of the Year for Tampa Bay for the 21 to 50 size category.

And then the highlight of my personal career has been this past year in 2022. I won the Leader of the Year for Tampa Bay, and that’s for all business sizes. It was such an honor.

I can’t even begin to say how much of an honor it was for my company to win the award. Because that just showed what a great team we are. And we are a phenomenal team. I couldn’t be more proud of the team that we have. And that night was just so special for all of us.

But then last year, that same team all came out in support of me because we didn’t know who would win until the moment that the name was read. And I brought everybody up on stage with me that night, even though it was supposed to be just the individual award. Because there’s no such thing as an individual award. A true leader is about the team that surrounds them and the people that are there for them day in and day out. And I wanted all of those people on that stage with me.

So I can’t thank the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce enough for having the SBOY Awards, but at the same time for honoring my company and myself.

In 2020, Bay Food Brokerage won the Tampa Bay Chamber Small Business of the Year Award in the 21-50 employees category. This award is based on financial success, community involvement and ethical business practices.

Then, in 2022, Bay Food’s President and CEO Cammie Chatterton was named Outstanding Business Leader of the Year. Judges assessed finalists for this award based on:

• Community involvement
