2022 is heading toward the finish line, but our Bay Food Brokerage team is keeping up the momentum heading for 2023. In addition to serving our clients and customers every day, we’re proud to be a women-owned business, soon to be entering our 30th year.

Bay Food Brokerage is thrilled by three recent recognitions from pillars of the Tampa Bay business community. It means we’re closing out our twenties with a bang, as President and CEO Cammie Chatterton leads us into a new decade!

Small Business, Big Impact: Outstanding Business Leader of the Year

Bay Food Brokerage's Cammie Chatterton named Outstanding Business Leader of the Year at the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Awards

The Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce held its annual Small Business of the Year Awards on November 9. There, Cammie was named Outstanding Business Leader of the Year — the capstone honor of the night. Every year, this event narrows down hundreds of local companies into the best of the best. Then it honors winners and nominees in front of more than 500 attendees.

Finalists for this award were judged based on their:

  • Character, initiative and tenacity
  • Demonstrated skills and selflessness
  • Inspiring teamwork and going above and beyond
  • Community involvement

We agree that Cammie excels in all of these areas, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her recognized with this incredible honor. We’re especially pleased to see a women-owned business celebrated by our peers and leaders.

Thank you to the Tampa Bay Chamber and all the volunteers for putting in a tremendous amount of work to recognize small businesses in our community with this amazing event each year.

Giving Back: Philanthropists of the Year

Cammie Chatterton recognized as finalist in the Individual category this year for Tampa Bay Business & Wealth magazine's Philanthropists of the Year Awards 2022

We’re so honored that Cammie was recognized as one of three finalists in the Individual category this year for Tampa Bay Business & Wealth magazine’s Philanthropists of the Year Awards, held at Armature Works on November 8. Tampa Bay Business & Wealth is a regional print and online publication for business leaders effecting change in the greater Tampa Bay area.

This recognition spotlights individuals who lead the way in Tampa Bay through philanthropic devotion. These leaders continually set the bar for excellence in community leadership and represent the change-makers we all aspire to be. Cammie is currently a member of the board of directors for the Tampa Bay Chamber, the executive board of the Get Live 45 Foundation, the Jesuit High School board, and the board of directors for Feeding Tampa Bay’s capital campaign.

Congratulations to Cammie and all the individuals and organizations highlighted at the event. They each work so hard to make Tampa Bay a wonderful place to live!

Growing Every Year: Largest Women-Owned Business List

Bay Food Brokerage landed at the No. 32 spot in the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Largest Women-Owned Businesses rankings for 2022. The list surveyed more than 100 companies in Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties. It’s our fourth year on the list, where last year, we ranked No. 38.

Building any small business takes imagination, stellar people skills, industry expertise and persistence. We’re humbled to stand alongside the incredible women represented on this list. We look forward to serving our community alongside them for many years to come.

Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery

This year, food industry trade publication Progressive Grocer recognized Cammie in its annual list of Top Women in Grocery. Judges selected the honorees based on the women’s extraordinary accomplishments between April 2021 and March 2022. The honorees were recognized at an event in November.

During that time frame, Cammie led her food brokerage company to tremendous revenue growth. This is particularly remarkable given the challenges posed by recent supply chain problems and the pandemic. She also took on four new leadership roles with regional charitable and business organizations.

Established in 1922, Progressive Grocer is a national print and online news outlet for the retail food industry. This honor featured those working for a women-owned business, as well as corporations.

We are so proud of our entire team for their hard work and dedication to our clients! If you’re looking for a food brokerage company that gets results without compromising customer service, contact us today.
